What is today one of the most prestigious commercial buildings along the world renowned Seven Mile Beach corridor was once the first business boutique hotel in the Cayman Islands.
In the early 1980’s, the Grand Pavilion was a combination of 88 hotel guest rooms, four large suites, business suites and two restaurants. The largest of the hotel suites was named the “Royal Suite”, amply so, after the 1983 visit of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, when she chose that suite at the Grand Pavilion for her stay in the Cayman Islands. Later in the 1990’s, the Grand Pavilion was home to what many considered the finest restaurant on island: Ottmar’s. Needless to say, the Grand Pavilion has been and remains to be a grand landmark in the heart of Seven Mile Beach.
Spurred by the rapid growth in the offshore financial industry in the late 90’s, coupled with the recognition of its convenient location along the growing Seven Mile Beach corridor, its owners decided to convert the property into an exclusively commercial building.
The unique location and nature of the building, together with the strong reputation of the Thompson Group for management and customer service, led the building to be over 95% leased out prior to completion of the redevelopment, a high level of occupancy that has continuously been met or exceeded to this day. The Boardroom is a more intimate setting for smaller meetings.
